A shu, or black, bingcha with a full, sweet flavor, this pu-erh shows careful leaf selection; note the golden buds abundant among the whole compressed leaves. It was produced at the Menghai Factory in Yunnan in 2012, and yields a deep red liquor with pleasant woody notes. Although it tastes balanced from the initial infusion, this tea shines throughout multiple steepings. 

To brew, gently flake off a small portion of the brick; rinse leaves briefly in boiling water, then infuse several times.
