Genmaicha is a popular Japanese green tea; ours is a blend of sencha and roasted rice. The style evolved as a way to stretch the tea harvest, and its balanced grassy and nutty flavor remains a favorite.
This lot is grown on a small, century-old family farm in Shizuoka; after the leaves are harvested, steamed and rolled, the finished tea is hand-mixed with roasted rice. Soothing and mellow, the rice adds a wonderful toasted note to this refreshing green tea.
