Darjeeling 2nd Flush, Samabeong Estate

Darjeeling 2nd Flush, Samabeong Estate

Darjeelings are standouts in the black tea category, renown for their complex aromas and nuanced flavors. The flushes refer to the harvest: second flushes are the second picking of the plants, usually in late April or early May, and are processed to maximize oxidation of the leaves.

The Samabeong Estate was established in the Kalimpong region in 1882, amid the lush jungle of the Neora Valley, and it has operated as an organic farm for several years. When infused, the rich brown leaves release a candy-sweet and toasted cocoa aroma; flavors of caramel and baked goods further distinguish this satisfying cup.
