Thoughts on Tea and Food Pairings
Why pair tea with food? Pairing tea with food is an adventure in flavors. It is also a good way to get to know the variety in the world of tea. Tea provides an extensive range of tastes, similar to that of wine but without alcohol.
Trout Salad and Iced Scarlet Glow
Dan Barber, the chef and co owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns in New York was making a salad as an example of cool things to make for the summer. He chose to pair it with our Iced Scarlet Glow.
Laphet, a Burmese Tea Snack
Known as Laphet, Myanmar's most common snack is pickled tea leaves. It's eaten both at informal get-togethers and formal events such as weddings and funerals. Laphet is essentially young green tea leaves plucked and fired before being buried underground.
Iced Tea Sorbet
While we all enjoy the pleasure of a pot of hot tea, sometimes we crave something a bit cooler. Many of our teas taste great chilled.
