Ji chi mu, or "chicken feather" wood gets its name from its appearance, whose tangential grain resembles the patterns of bird feathers. Sturdier than bamboo trays, this is a high quality, dense wood that is known for its strength and beauty. Sitting underneath the tray is a black, plastic drawer that easily slides out, for catching excess water.
