Sencha Zairai (2 oz)
Organically grown on a farm south of Kagoshima City, this sencha is made from the
varietal, which is a blend of several different native cultivars. The leaves are shaded for about a week before harvest- which increases the tea’s theanine content and decreases bitterness- then are steamed, dried and rolled. The resulting taste is fresh and clear, with a smooth texture. Upon a longer second steep, more full-bodied umami notes appear in a balanced sweet, corn silk flavor.

A fresh and crisp bittersweet Japanese green tea, with a well-balanced, silky texture.
Start with your favorite spring or filtered water. Preheat the teaware. Use a large strainer basket to allow the leaves to open and release their flavor.
3g / 6 oz serving = 1 teaspoon
Re-steep to make another cup. Play with the amount of tea, the water temperature, and steeping time to re-steep - rely on taste, not color. Get to know the tea!
